The Summer Fair is playing host to a wide range of Fine Artists, Sculptors, Print-Makers and Photographers, offering you the chance to invest in original pieces of fine art, limited edition prints, photographs and beautiful objects of unique craftsmanship. This exciting and inspiring event also offers the unique opportunity of meeting and interacting with the artists themselves in a friendly atmosphere and directly hearing about their creative processes and techniques.
Bridget Edwards, Southwark Arts Forum Director says:
“It’s a great chance for the general public to experience the arts, to engage with artists, musicians, and see art outside of the context of a gallery.”
The Fair features a huge and diverse cross-section of artistic practices, from traditional painters such as Stella Shaw who creates rich and hauntingly ethereal watercolours and oil paintings, to daring and original printmakers such as Yekinni, who has worked with the Tate Gallery in the past and whose work plays with themes of typography using humour and ideological architecture. Alongside these artists will be fine crafts-makers such as Dan Knight, previously of the Royal College of Art, displaying his sculptural and useful objects under the banner of Sacred Objects, and Jewellers such as Xaman Ek.
